Below we present our goals concerning the T4TW project . The following text will be modified over time.
What is T4TW?
T4TW (Translations For The Web) - is a group of translators fascinated about computer sciences, whose high priority is to overcome one of the most serious obstacles concerning web accessibility - the language barrier. We translate pages regarding information about standards and Internet projects.
This service is dedicated to our lifetime passion and ideals we strongly believe in, therefore no payment will ever be charged for information found in here. The service has been created with the intention of allowing Polish people to have better access to pages written in English.
Our objectives
We have established two main priorities:
1. Increasing accessibility to documents and sites which are restricted to the Polish user. Our goal is to translate pages and documents which are of paramount importance for Internet standards. The main emphasis is placed on the subject of web accessibility
2. Promoting web standards.
Project phases
1. Translations of services and documents related to web standards and web pages offering free access to books.
At the moment we create translations of www sites, or documents that can be found on the following pages:
- W3C
- WaSP
- Gutenberg.org
- ISO
2. Arrangement of information service in order to familiarize a potential visitor with the range of our activity and popularization of the pages `(their names can be found at the top part of our page).
3. Initiation and development of a project named: English-Polish and Polish-English dictionary in order to translate computer science-related terms.
4. Initiation and development of a dictionary of computer expressions
(its content and terminology will be strictly linked to the content of
our translated resources).
Members of our team
Since the work we perform is divided into two groups, we have decided to take up two different names under which its members can be officially found:
1. Tłumaczenia team
Sebastian Snopek - leader
Kamila Wiatr
2. Angielski team
Ireneusz Wojdyło - leader
Katarzyna Smalec
With W3C-related terminology we consult and cooperate with Andrew Osobka
Verification of the quality of our translations
Concerned about the quality of our translations, we have decided that
our translations should undergo a verification process. This way, e.g.
translation titled 'XPointer element()Schema' is worked on by the Tłumaczenia team and its verification is handled by the Angielski team.
We also encourage all people who are interested in the matters found in our site to report any errors noticed in our translations. We are convinced that thanks to the cooperation with all the stakeholders and those who are interested in the project will help us create a tremendous Internet-based Service.
